Nothing predestined Christine and Stéphanie to take over the family estate of La Baudelière, in Aigle. Mother and daughter were able to transform a bad stroke of fate, the accidental death of Pierre-André, Christine's brother, into a successful adventure. Christine swapped her nurse's gown and Stéphanie, once her matu was in her pocket, continued on the school benches in Changins to become an oenologist. With passion, the two winegrowers have combined competence, Christine in the vineyard and Stéphanie in the cellar, for necessarily feminine wines with all finesse. On the 3.5 ha vineyard of the estate, planted in the Aigle and Yvorne appellations, the duo is delighted. To the classic Chasselas have been added a range of grape varieties - Riesling, Pinot noir, Gamay, Dornfelder, Mondeuse, Syrah, Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Merlot - that the vinification sublime.
OUR AREAS
Among the Diserens, the know-how was passed from father to son in 1880. Gustave, Georges, Claude, Norbert and today Serge - a HES engineer from Changins - have perpetuated the family tradition, while innovating. The Domaine des Moines owes its name to the road where it nestles, on the heights of Villeneuve. A place where it is good to taste the specialties grown on the 5.5 ha of the Villeneuve appellation. Chasselas, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Gamaret, Garanoir, Diolinoir, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernets, Malbec come from around twenty plots which benefit from different terroirs and altitudes. There are also two plots in Leytron and Saillon, where Terra Solis Cabernets-Merlot and Terra Solis Syrah are born. In 2016, it received the title of best Syrah in the world.
